April is Autism Awareness Month…Every 21 Seconds Another Child Will be Diagnosed. Autism Affects 1 out of 94 Children. 1 in 70 Boys. Autism is a complex neurological and developmental disorder that lasts throughout a persons lifetime. In 1970 autism was rare, affecting only 1 – 2 children per 10,000. The Centre for Disease Control in America now reports that autism effects 1 in 166 children. Australia now has 30,000 children with Autism.
